Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi as doubts surround the future of Diego Costa.
Whoever takes over from Guus Hiddink at the end of the season, a striker will be high on the wanted list, and Icardi has emerged as a serious target.
The 23-year-old is said to be weighing up his future at the San Siro as Inter are in serious danger of missing out on qualification to the Champions League.
Chelsea also look set to miss out after dropping more points against Stoke yesterday, but it has been suggested the kind of contract that will be on offer at Stamford Bridge, could still win the day.
Costa’s future remains shrouded in doubt as reports linking him with a return to Spain refuse to go away despite the fact his form has greatly improved under the leadership of Hiddink.
Even so Chelsea officials are looking to bring in at least one new striker this summer and Icardi appears to be a top target.
