Inter Milan have not given up hope of beating Manchester United and Chelsea to the signing of Euro 2016 star Joao Mario.
The Sporting Lisbon midfielder was a key member of the Portugal side that won the European Championships in France this summer.
As such, his value has rocketed with a number of elite clubs now hoping to land him during the transfer window.
Chelsea and Manchester United both reckon he would be a success in the Premier League and have been linked with big-money moves for the all-action midfielder.
Chinese club Jiangsu Suning had threatened to lure him to the far east with a bumper wage offer but they were unable to conclude a deal before their window shut.
And now, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Inter are lining up a second bid for the 23-year-old after having an initial £29.5million offer rebuffed by Sporting.
It has been suggested, however, that they will only sell for a fee no less than £38m.
