Inter Milan are plotting a shock summer move for out-of-favour Newcastle winger Florian Thauvin.
The Frenchman is coming towards the end of a season-long loan at Marseille after failing to make an impression at St. James’ Park last term.
Thauvin will return to Tyneside this summer but the club are ready to sanction a swift deal to get him off their books, particularly if they are relegated from the Premier League.
According to Tuttosport, Inter are trying to establish contact with Thauvin’s representatives before they make any bid to Newcastle.
However, Marseille are also understood to be keen on making a permanent move for the 23-year-old and a bidding war could take place between themselves and Inter, with Newcastle holding out for a fee of around £7million.
