Chelsea have been put on red alert after it was claimed Inter Milan are looking to sell Marcelo Brozovic before the transfer deadline.
The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from the San Siro all summer, with Juventus said to be leading the chase, although Chelsea are also said to be in the hunt.
Inter’s financial issues meant they were always likely to let the Croatian leave, although they are keen not to sell him to rivals Juve, which could put Chelsea in the box seat.
No mention of a transfer fee has been made but his agent has indicated Inter are open to sensible offers as they look to get a deal done before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
“Marcelo must be considered as a player on the market and therefore on sale,” his agent Miroslav Bicanic told FcInterNews.it. “But as for the details, you’d have to ask the club.
“He’s a great player and a great professional, and he behaves accordingly at Inter. But he would certainly do the same at any other club.
“We’ll see in the coming days, for the moment I can’t add anything else.”
Blues boss Antonio Conte is in the hunt for a new midfielder and there is a chance Brozovic could soon be heading to Stamford Bridge.
