Wisdom has been linked with a switch to Celtic, managed by former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, but Austria’s FC Red Bull Salzburg are now the favourites to land the 23-year-old on a season-long loan deal.

The defender, who is under contract until 2019, has previously spent time on loan with Derby County, West Brom and Norwich City, and now seems set for another temporary exit.

Alberto is heading for a permanent switch to Serie A side Lazio after the two clubs agreed a £4.3million fee which also includes add-ons and a 30% sell-on clause.

The Spanish forward managed just 12 appearances for the Premier League club, having been signed from Sevilla in a £6.8million deal in June 2013, and has spent time on loan with Malaga and Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly snubbed a loan approach from Sunderland for striker Ings, who missed the majority of last season with a knee injury following his arrival from Burnley.

A number of clubs are believed to have made contact with Liverpool regarding Ings’ availability but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has no intention of allowing the 24-year-old to depart.
