Ibrahim Afellay has been blown away by Giannelli Imbula and believes Stoke’s record signing can help take the club to the next level.
The midfielder has settled into life in the Premier League quickly after joining Stoke for £18.3million in the January window, and Afellay has been impressed with what he has seen so far.
Imbula has only played two games, but has already got off the mark with a goal against Bournemouth, and Afellay believes there is plenty more to come from him.
Stoke’s latest recruit does not speak a word of English yet, but Afellay says that does not matter as he will let his feet do all the talking out on the pitch.
“He’s an incredible player. I’m very happy to play with this kind of player – he’s the kind of player who makes your team,” he said. “In football language you speak with your feet and your legs and he’s already showing us he’s a fantastic talent.
“It’s a privilege to have players like that in your team because they make the difference.”
