Arsenal are ready to offer Inter Milan £30million plus Olivier Giroud for the services of striker Mauro Icardi, reports have claimed.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is still on the hunt for a marquee signing after failing with a number of attempts to land a new striker this summer, and will be hoping for more luck with Icardi.
Inter are determined to keep hold of the Argentina forward, but the Gunners hope by throwing Giroud in as part of the deal, the San Siro outfit may be tempted to cash in.
Giroud’s agent has constantly denied rumours throughout the summer that his client could be involved in potential swap deals, but that is doing little to dampen the speculation.
Arsenal will also face strong competition from elsewhere as Napoli are also in the hunt as they look to replace Gonzalo Higuain, while Chelsea have also been mentioned if they miss out on Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.
After missing out on Jamie Vardy and Alexandre Lacazette, Wenger cannot afford any more knock backs as the transfer deadline fast approaches.
