Hull City are reportedly closing in on the signing of powerful Bordeaux centre-back Lamine Sane, who can also play in midfield.
Reports in France claim the two clubs are in talks over a transfer with City officials having travelled across The Channel to complete the deal.
Sane is a vastly experienced 29-year-old defender who has played in the Champions League with the French club.
But he endured a disastrous campaign last term, making only 11 Ligue 1 starts and getting sent off in a 4-0 defeat to Toulouse in March.
The Senegal international is a team-mate of Tigers midfielder Mohamed Diame at international level and has been previously linked with moves to the Premier League.
At just over six feet three inches tall, Sane has been on English scouts’ radar for some time and has just one year left on his contract at Bordeaux.
