Hull are being linked with a £6million move for Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall after losing number one Allan McGregor to injury.
The Tigers revealed this week that first-choice McGregor is unlikely to play any part in the club’s return to the Premier League until November at the earliest after he suffered a back injury during the team’s pre-season training camp in Portugal.
McGregor will have to undergo an operation to correct the problem, prompting manager Steve Bruce to look at alternatives.
Hull have reportedly turned to McGregor’s Scotland team mate Marshall to fill the void and are ready to offer £6million for the goalkeeper, who has been constantly linked with a move away from Cardiff in recent seasons.
Marshall, who came close to joining West Brom last summer, is said to be desperate to move to a Premier League club and the Tigers are hopeful they can persuade him to make the switch to Humberside.
