Toral made his first Hull start at Derby on Friday following his recent move from Arsenal, but it turned in to an evening to forget as the Tigers were thumped 5-0.
Leonid Slutsky’s side hope to bounce back at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night with both sides in the bottom half of the Sky Bet Championship.
“It was a bad night for us, but we need to react quickly,” Spanish midfielder Toral told the official Hull website.
“We need to get our heads up and get ourselves ready because we have to put right what happened on Friday night.
“We were a little better in the second half but that was too little, too late and was more about putting that first half behind us and getting on to the next game.
“I think our heads went down after missing the penalty at 1-0.
“That shouldn’t happen and we need to react better to moments like that to keep ourselves in the game.”
Fulham have struggled to hit the heights of last season when they reached the play-offs, with Slavisa Jokanovic’s side winning only once in six games.
But Jokanovic feels it is unfair to compare the current Fulham side to the one that did so well after a summer of change at Craven Cottage.
Fulham have drawn four of their six league games and Jokanovic said: “People want to compare the team to last season – but no comparison exists, actually right now we bring new elements into our team.
“We must understand that this is not our best level but I don’t like comparisons to last season.
“We built some identity and some style but that season is behind us now – this is a new season and we must find something different.
“We are going to try improve ourselves and we cannot be satisfied with this performance at the beginning of the Championship.”
