A group of Chinese investors are understood to be confident of completing a deal to buy Hull City.
Current owners Assem and Ehab Allam are keen to sell the club and the duo have been the subject of protests from a large number of Hull fans.
Representatives from the potential new owners were in the crowd as the Tigers kicked off the new campaign with a 2-1 home victory over defending Premier League champions Leicester City.
It has been reported that a takeover deal is yet to be agreed but the due diligence process is underway.
