A spirited performance from Hull saw them come from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-1 at the KCOM Stadium.
A silly challenge from Harry Maguire on Ryan Fraser in the third minute saw referee Martin Atkinson point to the penalty spot and that allowed Junior Stanislas to give the Cherries the lead..
Benik Afobe should have doubled Bournemouth’s advantage after his pace saw him get in behind Michael Dawson, but his shot was straight at the on-rushing Eldin Jakupovic in the 22nd minute.
Hull drew level in the 32nd minute when Andrew Robertson picked out Abel Hernandez at the far post with a superb cross and the striker powered a header home.
A superb solo goal from Hernandez put Hull ahead after 55 minutes. The Uruguayan bamboozled Tyrone Mings with some stepovers before bending the ball past Artur Boruc into the bottom corner.
Mings’ second half was not enjoyable at all as he added an own goal to his list of mishaps in the 62nd minute. A sliced shot from Tom Huddlestone hit the defender and went into the back of the net to give Hull a third goal.
