Stoke chairman Peter Coates has revealed his support for Mark Hughes but has also admitted results must start improving.
The Potters are currently propping up the Premier League table after securing just one point from their opening five fixtures.
Hughes has presided over four losses in a row, with three of those defeats seeing his side concede four goals.
Stoke are set to host Premier League rivals Hull in the EFL Cup third round at the bet365 Stadium on Wednesday ahead of welcoming West Brom in the league on Saturday.
Coates insists it is still too early in the campaign to be passing judgement although he hopes Hughes can address the poor start sooner rather than later.
Coates, quoted by The Sentinel on Tuesday, said: “I haven’t had a meeting with Mark. There’s a match on Wednesday.
“We are disappointed to be where we are. We’ve had results we haven’t liked and it has been a poor start to the season.
“We need to start winning matches, the sooner the better, and as soon as we do that it changes everything.”
