Stoke boss Mark Hughes has confirmed they are still working hard to bring in a new striker before the transfer deadline.
The Potters slipped to a 4-1 home defeat against Manchester City at the weekend, but Hughes believes it could have been a different story had they taken their chances.
West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino remains a target for Hughes, who says everything is being done to make sure they land the striker they crave.
“That’s an area of the side we want to improve and we are still in the market to try and bring in a player of quality,” Hughes revealed. “There’s been times, not only here, but in seasons gone by, where we lacked the killer element to our good play.
“There are a lot of good things we do up to a point, but we just haven’t got that final ball. I saw good parts to our play and other parts that weren’t so good.”
