Southampton are now preparing for a £30million bid from Liverpool for wideman Sadio Mane, having already lost Victor Wanyama.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is looking for more attacking flair in his side and had been after Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze but that deal looks to be dead in the water so he is now set to up his efforts to sign Mane.
The 24-year-old is thought to be keen on the move but the Saints would not be overly keen as Wanyama has just completed his switch to Tottenham.
However the St Mary’s money men, who are still looking to appoint a successor to Everton-bound Ronald Koeman, might be tempted if a sizeable offer in the region of £30million is lodged.
The Senegal international would be yet another Saints star to move from the south coast to Anfield following in the footsteps Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne.
