The Serie A side’s chairman had met with journalists ahead of the second division clash between Salernitana and Crotone.
Lotito was at the game representing Salernitana – his son-in-law is their president – and while reporters were expecting team or injury news, they were surprised to learn of United’s mega-money business.
But Lazio are adamant the claims are false.
They issued an official statement which read: “In reference to statements attributed to president Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of the player Felipe Anderson, the SS Lazio noted that these are devoid of any foundation.”
Anderson is an attacking midfielder with one cap for Brazil.
