Chelsea are hoping to ward off Real Madrid’s interest in Eden Hazard by offering the Belgian playmaker a £300,000-a-week contract, according to reports.
The new deal would not only see him become the top earner at Stamford Bridge, but also in the Premier League.
The riches of the biggest league in world football has seen wages increase considerably in recent years and the top earners in England could soon be on more than £500,000-a-week.
According to figures in Saturday’s edition of The Sun, each of the highest paid players at the Premier League’s ‘big six’ clubs have been revealed.
