Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera believes his side are capable of beating high-flying Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
The Red Devils head into Sunday’s match in good form following back-to-back 1-0 victories against Manchester City and Everton, and they are now just a point outside the top four in the Premier League standings.
United have performed particularly well against the big teams this season, following victories against the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and City, and Herrera believes they can continue their fine form against title chasing Spurs.
He said: “I think we perform better against top teams and always give our best, and Spurs is one of those top teams.
“We have been the better team against Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea so we have to believe.”
Spurs are currently second in the Premier League standings, seven points behind league leaders Leicester and Herrera believes Mauricio Pochettino’s side deserve respect following their impressive campaign to date.
He added: “I think Spurs and Leicester are the only teams that have been consistent. I watched SpursÂ’ game at Liverpool, they controlled pretty much all of the game and played very well in the second half and could have won.
“They are still fighting for the title and we have to respect them because they have very good players.”
United have an impressive recent record against Spurs, as they have not lost in any of the last six meetings between the two sides, with their last defeat at White Hart Lane coming way back in May 2001.
Louis van Gaal’s side were 1-0 victors when the two teams met at Old Trafford earlier in the campaign and punters may choose to use their free bet to back the Red Devils to achieve a similar result on Sunday.
