West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is interested in signing French full-back Jeremy Pied, who is set to become a free agent.
The attacking right-back, who can also operate in midfield, is coming to the end of his current contract with Nice in France and has refused the offer of a new deal at Allianze Riviera.
He is wanted by St Etienne in France and Sunderland are also said to be keen so the deal is by no means straight forward.
Bilic is hoping the lure of Europa League football, not to mention the prospect of playing in the Olympic Stadium next season, will persuade Pied to move to East London
Bilic is looking to build a squad good enough to compete on all fronts and there are expected to be many new arrivals, it’s being reported in France that West Ham are now planning a huge offer to sign Lille full back Djibril Sidibe.
He would cost in the region of £14m, while Pied is available on a free.
