West Ham United are being linked with an audacious attempt to sign Arsenal forward Theo Walcott and could offer £26million.
Southampton youth product Walcott has flattered to deceive at the Gunners of late and was criticised for his lacklustre performance in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United last month.
According to reports in the Brentwood Gazette, Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is weighing up a £26million bid for the England international in the close season.
Walcott only signed a new contract extension at Arsenal last summer and his present deal runs until June 2019 so the Gunners do not have to sell, although if the Hammers were to offer the £26million talked about they may well consider that too good to turn down.
The speculation comes just a week after the Hammers were also linked with a summer swoop for Walcott’s Gunners team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
