West Ham’s versatile Michail Antonio has revealed he would prefere to play in a more forward role rather than in defence.
The former Nottingham Forest star was picked in his first England squad at the weekend for the clash with Slovakia although he did not get on for Sam Allardyce’s side.
Although he has been used as both a defender and a winger he admits he is happier further down the pitch in an attacking position.
He told Goal: “The wing is my natural position. That’s where I love to play.
“I’m a player who loves to get up the pitch, I’m a player who loves to score goals. That’s why I play football, that’s why I’ll take the wing all day.”
