Swansea are reported to be closing in on a season-long loan swoop for West Ham striker Enner Valencia.
The Swans have just competed the signing of Alfie Mawson from Barnsley, but chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed the club are still in the market for one or two loan additions before the transfer deadline passes.
Valencia has been told he can move on this summer by Hammers boss Slaven Bilic after slipping down the pecking order and a switch to the Swans looks to be on the cards.
The 26-year-old, who arrived at West Ham two years ago for around £12m from Mexican side Pachuca, still has three years remaining on his current contract but the recent arrivals of Simone Zaza, Jonathan Calleri and Andre Ayew – although he’s likely to be out injured until January – means first-team action will be hard to come by.
Swansea have already signed Fernando Llorente and Borja Baston this summer but, after selling Ayew to the Hammers, are in the hunt for another striker and Valencia fits the bill.
