West Ham skipper Mark Noble says he is looking forward to tackling the league’s big boys again but is expecting a tough season.
Slaven Bilic’s men will have to go some to better their finish of seventh last season, while they have also got Europa League football to contend with as well, but Noble is feeling positive.
West Ham had some fantastic success on the road last season and will be hoping they can carry that on this term, starting at Chelsea on Monday.
However, Noble has issued a word of caution, claiming he expects this season to be much tougher than the 2015/16 campaign.
“Do I think this is going to be the toughest season I’ve played in? Probably yes,” he told the club’s official website.
“[But] we know we can compete with the big boys, we did that last year.
“We haven’t got the same spending power of maybe as big a squad, but we have got a great bunch of lads who enjoy playing together.”
