West Ham are being linked with a £5million summer swoop to sign Aston Villa starlet Jack Grealish.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who worked his way up through the youth Academy at Villa Park, has seen his career hit the buffers this season after he made the breakthrough into the first team under former boss Tim Sherwood last term.
Grealish started the season well but Sherwood’s dismissal in November has coincided with a downturn in fortunes for the youngster under current boss Remi Garde.
The French tactician forced him to train with Villa’s Under-21 team after he was spotted going out clubbing hours after the first team lost 4-0 at Everton.
Grealish’s hopes of forcing his way back into the Villa side have since been hampered by a problematic ankle injury which has prevented him from regaining his full fitness levels.
But despite his issues, reports claim Hammers boss Slaven Bilic can see huge potential in Grealish and will look to tempt Villa with a £5million bid in the summer when the Midlands’ club will almost certainly be preparing for life in the Championship.
