West Ham are keen to sign Jack Wilshere on loan after Arsenal made him available but they face competition for the midfielder.
Wilshere has managed just two substitute appearances for the Gunners this season and was left out of Sam Allardyce’s first England squad as a result of his lack of game time.
It has now been claimed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has granted the midfielder a temporary switch to secure more regular action elsewhere following talks between the player and club.
A host of clubs are being linked with the 24-year-old and West Ham have emerged as contenders, along with Premier League rivals Everton, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Southampton.
However, there is also interest from across Europe in the Arsenal man as Spain’s Valencia and Italian champions Juventus have been mentioned as potential destinations.
Juve are rated as the favourites to capture Wilshere at this stage as they continue to seek for midfield reinforcements following Paul Pogba’s world-record switch to Manchester United.
