Arsenal watched £15million-rated right-back Bruno Peres play for Torino against Benfica on Wednesday, according to reports in Italy.
The Gunners sent scouts to Lisbon for the pre-season clash between the Serie A club and the Portuguese champions with the Brazilian star thought to be the target.
Roma reached an agreement to sign the player a year ago, but the move fell through and his performances last season have brought more clubs to the negotiating table.
Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City have also been linked to the 26-year-old defender and Tuttosport claim the player’s agent has arrived in Italy to hold talks.
Arsenal appear well equipped at right-back for the time being with Hector Bellerin, Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson and Calum Chambers on their books, but one of those could be shipped out before the end of the summer transfer window.
