Everton boss Ronald Koeman has hailed summer signing Idrissa Gueye, who has caught the eye during his side’s fine start to the season.
The Senegalese midfielder made the move to Goodison Park from relegated Aston Villa in the summer and he has been oustanding for Koeman’s side so far as the Blues have made an unbeaten start in the Premier League.
Koeman says Gueye has adapted quickly to his new club and hopes his good form will continue.
He said in his press conference: “The adaptation of the players hasn’t taken long. He is playing comfortable. He puts a lot of energy on the pitch and he’s comfortable on the ball. He’s a great signing.”
Koeman admits Everton’s impressive start has taken some people by surprise but paid tribute to his players who have done the business on the pitch.
“It’s a good start to the season, maybe better than everyone expected,” he added. “The quality players can make the difference.”
