Swansea have finally agreed a deal with Marseille that will see Bafetimbi Gomis join the French club on a season-long loan deal.
The Frenchman, who struggled for form in his second season at the Liberty Stadium, is expected to return to his native country for the upcoming campaign after the two sides reached an agreement over the loan deal.
Gomis made a great start to last season, scoring in each of his first four Premier League games, before only managing three more goals overall across the rest of the season.
He was left out of Swansea’s 5-1 friendly win at Bristol Rovers on Saturday as talks were underway and his move to Marseille is close to being announced.
The 30-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 71 appearances for the Swans, has two years left on his Liberty Stadium contract but does not appear to be in boss Francesco Guidolin’s long-term plans.
