France secured their place in the Euro 2016 final on Thursday night, beating favourites Germany 2-0 in Marseille.
Antoine Griezmann netted both goals to fire his team into the final, and hand the hosts a great chance to win the entire competition against a Portugal side who have so far looked lacklustre.
However, France themselves still do not look unbeatable, and the striker position is one of the main problems in their squad.
Griezmann plays better when behind someone else, and Olivier Giroud has been the first-choice forward for the tournament – to mixed reviews.
He has scored three times, but the Arsenal man has been extremely wasteful, and has failed to perform when it matters – such as against the Germans.
He was out of the game for large portions of the time he spent on the pitch, and he wasted the one clear chance he had to score, failing to outpace Benedikt Howedes whilst counter-attacking.
Gunners fans have never been completely convinced by their main striker, and there were some harsh words for him as he struggled to perform in France’s win…
