Arsenal are believed to have tabled a bid worth £43million for Germany forward Julian Draxler, who is said to want out of Wolfsburg.
The Gunners have a long-standing link to the 22-year-old, having tried to land him when he was at Schalke, only for Draxler to turn down the opportunity, claiming he was not ready to move abroad in 2015 before opting for Wolfsburg instead.
Despite only being at the Volkswagen Arena for 12 months, rumours have emerged suggesting he is willing to move on from the Bundesliga outfit as he is disappointed with life with the Wolves.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both reportedly been monitoring Draxler’s situation but it is the Gunners who have struck first, supposedly tabling a massive £43million offer.
Wolfsburg paid £26million to sign Draxler a year ago and will be reluctant to let him leave, despite the potentially huge profit in store should they sell.
Draxler, who scored 10 times in 32 appearances last season for Wolfsburg, is the latest forward to be linked with a move to Arsenal, who are also said to have spoken to Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette.
