Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is reported to be lining up a summer move for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi.
Even if Spurs fail to catch Leicester City in the race for the Premier League title, they will be playing Champions League football next season and Pochettino will have to strengthen his squad accordingly.
Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld have impressed at the heart of the defence this season, but Pochettino still wants more quality and Mustafi has emerged as a target.
The German international was part of the squad that won the World Cup in 2014 and he has impressed with Valencia this season, despite their struggles in La Liga.
Mustafi can also play as a full-back or a defensive midfielder and it seems as though his versatility has convinced Pochettino to break the bank to sign him.
