Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the signing of Southampton striker Sam Gallagher on a season-long loan deal.
Gallagher joined MK Dons on loan last season when they were in the Championship before being recalled by Saints from his temporary move in January but he has now been allowed back out on loan again.
The 20-year-old broke into the Southampton first team during the 2013-2014 season, making 18 of his 20 appearances in the Premier League while scoring his only top-flight goal against Norwich.
On the back of those performances, he signed a long-term contract at St Mary’s until June 2018.
Devon-born Gallagher represented Scotland Under-19s three times before switching to England, where he has also played on three occasions at U19s level.
He heads to Ewood Park hoping for regular first-team action in Owen Coyle’s side.
