Manchester United are thought to be interested in versatile full back Cesar Azpilicueta after reports that Chelsea were open to offers.
Azpilicueta recently admitted to being flattered by interest from Athletic Bilbao and has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain since the end of the domestic campaign.
The 26-year-old, currently playing for Spain at Euro 2016, made 49 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last season.
The Basque-country born defender has been a key figure for the Blues since he joined in 2012, particularly under ex-interim boss Rafael Benitez and former manager Jose Mourinho.
The new United boss would certainly be interested in snapping him up if Chelsea were open to offers and reports have claimed a fee of £11.8million might be enough to persuade them.
However, that figure looks a little shy of the player’s true value as he can play on both sides of defence and still has three years left on his Stamford Bridge contract.
Azpilicueta could see his first-team chances affected if new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte favours a 3-5-2 system with wing-backs, as he has done with Italy of late.
