Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic persuaded Tomas Kalas to join on loan because it’s easy for Chelsea to keep a close eye on him.
Jokanovic believes the defender has made the perfect loan move to Craven Cottage because of its close proximity to Chelsea – meaning Blues boss Antonio Cone can easily watch him.
The 23-year-old has made just four senior appearances for the Blues and has often been sent out on loan, impressing in particular last season at Middlesbrough where he helped them achieve promotion up to the Premier League.
“First of all Tomas has been very good at the beginning of the season,” Jokanovic said in the Evening Standard. “He has done an important job for us and I believe this is a good place for him to get the benefits of playing more games as it is not his first loan.
“Last season he didn’t play many games at Middlesbrough and generally we are so close to Stamford Bridge here, so they can check easily if Tomas is a player who can help at Chelsea in the future or not.”
