Andy Carroll is happy with the balance of West Ham’s team following Saturday’s 3-0 friendly win over Karlsruher SC.
The Hammers had failed to win any of their previous four pre-season matches before last weekend’s triumph, losing to Seattle Sounders and Rubin Kazan whilst drawing with Carolina RailHawks and FC Slovacko.
However, Slaven Bilic’s men managed to pick up their first victory in Kapfenberg with Carroll, summer arrival Sofiane Feghouli and Ashley Fletcher all getting on the scoresheet.
It was a good display from the English outfit and it gives them a confidence boost ahead of Thursday’s Europa League qualifying clash against NK Domzale.
Carroll, whose has been battling injuries ever since joining West Ham in 2013 from Liverpool, was impressed with the level of performance and insists the players are starting to click.
“All the work the lads have been putting in over the last couple of weeks has been great,” he told the club’s website. “We created plenty on Saturday. We got enough crosses in and enough chances and I think the team going forward, and in defence too, is very good.”
