Hull boss Steve Bruce has revealed Manchester United loanee Nick Powell is unlikely to play again this season after suffering a fresh injury in training.
Powell had stepped up his rehabilitation after missing five matches with a hamstring problem, but he has now sustained a thigh injury.
Bruce said in his press conference to preview Saturday’s game at Huddersfield: “He re-injured himself on Tuesday when he was just stepping up his training with us for a second day.
“Unfortunately he pulled a thigh.
“I don’t think we’ll see him again before the end of the season. Normally you’re looking at three or four weeks for an injury like this.
“We might be able to see him again and I wouldn’t rule him out totally, but it’s going to be difficult given the way he went over.
“He just pulled up and when you do that, it’s usually three or four weeks I would have thought.”
