Everton are reported to be lining up a swoop for Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to replace Tim Howard.
The Foxes are already battling to keep hold of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante this summer and now reports claim that Everton are keen to sign Schmeichel.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is line to take charge at Goodison Park and it has been suggested he will target a new goalkeeper to replace MLS bound Horward.
Schmeichel is said to be his top target but Leicester will demand a fee in the region of £20million for their Danish ace, who still has two years remaining on his current deal.
Leicester are in the process of offering the 29-year-old, who kept 15 clean sheets last season, a new deal, but news of Everton’s interest could throw a spanner in the works.
Manchester City shot stopper Joe Hart is also a target for Everton, but there is very little chance of him leaving the Etihad Stadium.
