Rudi Garcia has rejected an approach from Southampton to become their new manager, according to reports in France.
The Saints are on the hunt for a new boss after Ronald Koeman quit St Mary’s to take charge of Premier League rivals Everton.
Garcia is currently out of work after being sacked by Roma in January and Southampton had been alerted to his availability.
However, according to L’Equipe, the 52-year-old has now turned down an offer from the Premier League club.
Garcia, who has managed both Lille and Roma, is reportedly only interested in working for Champions League side and as a result he was not prepared to discuss terms with Southampton.
