Seventeen football fans have been charged over a mass brawl in Nottingham city centre.

Groups of Nottingham Forest and Notts County fans were allegedly involved in the fight at the Major Oak pub in Pelham Street on 19 March.

Police said they believed it may have been pre-arranged by two gangs.

Seventeen men, aged between 19 and 27, were arrested early on Tuesday morning, along with an 18-year-old who has been bailed.

Fifteen of the charged men are from Nottinghamshire and two are from Derbyshire.

Both sets of supporters had seen their team lose in separate matches on 19 March.
