West Brom are poised to open talks with former Manchester United duo Darren Fletcher and Jonny Evans to extend their contracts.
The Baggies are keen to tie down their most important players for the long term, with head coach Tony Pulis having earmarked Fletcher and Evans as two of his main men.
Fletcher has a clause in his contract that triggers an automatic extension when he passes a certain amount of Premier League matches.
But Albion are now reportedly set to bring forward negotiations in recognition of the captain’s impact since joining on a free transfer from Manchester United in February 2015.
Fletcher was named Albion’s Player of the Year last season and has started every league game for Pulis in the current campaign.
His former Old Trafford colleague Evans is also set to enter renewal talks as Albion bid to fend off any further interest in the Northern Ireland international, who was linked to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old is already under contract at The Hawthorns until 2019.
