Federico Fernandez insists Swansea are not safe yet despite Saturday’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa.
The Swans are now 10 points clear of the bottom three on 36 points but Fernandez feels they are not out of the relegation battle.
The defender grabbed the only goal of the game in the second half at the Liberty Stadium and was delighted with the victory, but he feels Swansea cannot afford to relax.
“This game was massive for us,” Fernandez said after his fortunate Liberty Stadium winner took Swansea within four points of the magic 40-point mark.
“This is a very good step, now we rest and focus on another seven finals. We are not safe yet, we need maybe a point or three more points.
“But this was a very important moment for us, and now we are able to relax a little and stay calm in the last weeks.”
