Alan Curtis has been singing the praises of Leroy Fer as the Queens Park Rangers midfielder eyes a permanent move to Swansea.
Fer arrived from Loftus Road in the January transfer window and will spend the rest of the season on loan with the Swans as they battle to pull away from relegation trouble.
The midfielder has impressed when handed an opportunity in the first-team and is doing his chances of earning a permanent deal in the summer no harm at all.
Fer still has over 12 months to run on his deal at QPR but there is every chance as switch to the Liberty Stadium will happen if he continues to shine.
“Leroy was excellent at Arsenal,” he said. “He cramped up a little from a lack of games, but we thought it was a positive change for us when he came on against Norwich.
“It was no reflection on Leon, who was probably one of our better players, but we needed a change and the balance was a little bit better with Jack (Cork) and Leroy.
“Leroy’s done exceptionally well in training and he was given the opportunity at Arsenal.
“I wouldn’t say he surprised us because we’re aware of what he can bring ? we’ve suffered at his hands against Queens Park Rangers and Norwich and we know he’s a good player.
“He gives us a physical edge and I thought he was excellent at the weekend.”
