Stoke are reported to be showing an interest in Fenerbahce defender Caner Erkin, who will be available on a free transfer this summer.
The left-back is due to fall out of contract at the end of the season and according to reports in Italy, there are a host of top clubs battling it out for his signature.
The Potters are said to be among them but Mark Hughes will face strong competition to land him as Inter Milan, Liverpool and Chelsea are also reported to be keen.
Reports in the Italian media claim that Inter are in the box seat to do a deal, with some suggesting the player has already agreed to a three-year deal at the San Siro.
The contract on offer is said to be worth £1.5million a season and Erkin looks set to turn his back on the Premier League in favour of heading to Serie A.
