Exeter City have signed Crystal Palace central defender Luke Croll on loan until mid-January.

The 21-year-old has yet to play for the Premier League club, but appeared three times for City’s rivals Plymouth Argyle on loan last season, making his debut against Exeter.

Croll will ease the Grecians’ growing injury list, especially in defence.

Jordan Tillson is sidelined with a broken ankle, while Jordan Moore-Taylor has knee ligament trouble.

“It is a much-needed signing in a problematic area that has arose for us in the last three or four weeks,” said Exeter manager Paul Tisdale

“He is a match-ready player who needs to find his feet very quickly with us and pick up his place in the team.”
