Villa suffered a shocking season and finished the last campaign bottom of the Premier League.
Despite playing in the 4-0 FA Cup final defeat against Arsenal in 2015, Grealish found himself left in the cold by Remi Garde after a series of misdemeanours.
And Taylor, who played 235 games for Villa, thinks it’s time for the midfielder to grow up.
“He’s still developing, he’s still got a lot to learn,” he said
“I think we all know that Jack’s got ability – it’s just doing it on a consistent basis.
“We’ve spoken a lot about Jack Grealish, but he’s not really nailed a place down in the team yet. It’s up to him now, and a lot of the players, to prove that he warrants a place in the team.
“Pressure is part and parcel of football these days. It doesn’t matter what age you are, you’ve got to deal with it. But he can definitely play an important part.
“He’s proven he can play at a lower level when he went out on loan at Notts County and did really well, so why not in the Championship.
