EXCLUSIVE: Arsene Wenger makes massive Champions League squad decision for Arsenal

Ospina, who signed from Nice for £3m two summers ago, had numerous clubs tracking him this summer but was convinced he still had a future in north London by Wenger.

Having had a season playing second fiddle to Thibault Courtois at previous club Chelsea, Cech has reacted calmly to Wenger favouring Ospina in the Champions League.

“Petr’s fine, it’s everyone else that’s surprised by it,” said a source.

Former Chelsea star Radamel Falcao was one of many to praise fellow Colombian Ospina’s hero display in Paris. “Only a blind man cannot see David’s great skills,” he tweeted.
