Former Swansea City captain Alan Tate has been appointed a full-time coach at the club’s academy.
The 33-year-old played 340 games for the Swans and captained them on their debut in the Premier League in 2011.
Tate will work with Eric Ramsay and Chris Llewellyn with the under-18 squad and take charge of under-17 games.
“I am really looking forward to the new challenge this season,” said Tate, who won three promotions and the Football League Cup with the Swans.
“It gives me the opportunity to pass over the knowledge I have learnt in the game over the years to young players, and hopefully I can help them develop into the first team.”
Tate was released by Swansea at the end of the 2014-15 season and joined Port Talbot Town in November 2015.
