Everton have agreed terms with Newcastle United for the signature of Moussa Sissoko.
Sissoko has been desperate to leave St James’ Park this summer after the Magpies were relegated to the Championship and his wish has now been granted.
The Toffees have agreed a club-record fee of £30million for the France international and all parties are now rushing to get the deal over the line before the 11pm deadline.
Newcastle’s soon-to-be former midfielder is now on his way to Everton to undergo a medical and a long-term contract will be signed once this has been completed.
The news comes as a real blow to Tottenham Hotspur after the club were extremely interested in completing a deal, but they were refusing to meet the high valuation.
Sissoko would become the fifth new arrival at Goodison Park, following the additions of Yannick Bolasie, Ashley Williams, Idrissa Gueye and Maarten Stekelenburg.
