Ronald Koeman is keen to make Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin one of his first signings as Everton boss.
The Toffees are eager to bring in two central midfielders this summer due to Gareth Barry’s age and the struggles of Muhamed Besic and Tom Cleverley to convince last season, with Schneiderlin said to be one name on their wishlist.
Koeman spent a year working with the France international at Southampton, with Schneiderlin becoming a key member of that Saints side before making the move to Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old joined United for around £26million last summer but struggled to establish himself in the heart of the Red Devils’ midfield, often finding himself on the bench under previous manager Louis van Gaal.
It remains to be seen whether new boss Jose Mourinho has plans to use Schneiderlin but if not then Everton look as though they will jump at the chance to sign him.
