Axel Wiesel could pull out of a move to Everton to join Juventus instead, stories in Italy are claiming.
Reports over the weekend suggested Everton had agreed a £25milion fee with Zenit St Petersburg for the Belgian midfielder but he has yet to commit to the Toffees with offers from Italy on the table.
And, according to Sport Mediaset, Witsel is ready to listen to what Juve have to offer with the lure of Champions League football edging him towards a switch to Turin.
Everton are still due to hold talks with Witsel’s advisors this week in a bid to persuade him to sign for the Merseyside club.
Owner Farhad Moshiri is keen to splash the cash at Goodison Park this summer and has apparently sanctioned a sizeable salary for Witsel.
But the 27-year-old has made it clear that he wants to be playing in Europe next season, and the potential exit of Belgian team-mate Romelu Lukaku from Everton has also deterred Witsel from a move to the club.
